FIRE RISK ASSESSMENTS

We undertake a comprehensive risk assessment of your premises and discuss implementing any appropriate fire safety measures to esure you keep your workforce safe.

Providing Fire Risk Assessments

You can be rest assured that your Fire Risk Assessment has been completed by one of our qualified assessors.

The Fire Safety Order (FSO) applies to all non-domestic premises in England and Wales, and applies to common parts of blocks of flats and houses in multiple occupation (HMOs). Under the FSO, employers (and/or building owners or occupiers) must carry out a fire safety risk assessment and implement and maintain a fire management plan.

Based on the findings of the assessment, employers need to ensure that adequate and appropriate fire safety measures are then put into place to minimise the risk of injury or loss of life in the event of a fire. To help prevent fires in the workplace, your risk assessment should identify what could cause a fire to start, sources of ignition (heat or sparks), substances that will burn and the people who may be at risk.

This is where we can assist you. We undertake Fire Risk Assessments on a daily basis and are fully qualified and insured to do so, taking the headache away from you.

Following the onsite assessment your report will be available 1 to 2 working days later. In urgent cases we can offer a next day service. We will talk you through our findings within the report and help you understand exactly what needs attention. We can consider whether you can avoid them altogether or, if this is not possible, how you can reduce the risks to a minimal and manage them.

Included in our fire risk assessments we will investigate the following:

  • Carrying out a fire safety risk assessment
  • Any sources of ignition and flammable substances
  • Avoidance of accidental fires (i.e. making sure heaters cannot be knocked over)
  • Good housekeeping at all times (i.e. build-up of rubbish that could burn)
  • Considering how to detect fires and how to warn people quickly if they start (i.e. installing smoke alarms and fire alarms or bells)
  • Having the correct fire-fighting equipment for putting a fire out quickly
  • Ensuring fire exits and escape routes are clearly marked and unobstructed at all times
  • Ensuring your workers receive appropriate training on procedures they need to follow, including fire drills
  • Review and update your risk assessment regularly
Fire Risk Assessments can take place within 5 working days of you contacting us, or as early as the next day if urgent.
